Chinese Company is targeting Worldwide Vision Market

According to research data from IHS Market, the Chinese company Hikvision accounted for 19.5% of market share in the global video surveillance industry in 2015. The company was established in 2001 by 28 engineers, and had now over 18,000 employees including 8,100 engineers. They have achieved a competitive advantage in technology and cost by establishing a systematic technology and product platform that enhances the product development efficiency. Invision interviewed Kane Luo, Channel Sales Director at Hikvision.

Could you tell us something about your machine vision road map?

Kane Luo: Based on the experience in image processing, Hikvision established a subsidiary called Hikrobot in 2014 and its business concentrates to develop machine vision products and solutions. We have made a wide range of machine vision products in the last two years and will continually develop more products and solutions to meet the demands from different applications and industries. We are targeting to be another global company and offer local service to our customers.

What was the product highlight at the VISION fair?

Luo: Stuttgart Vision show was Hikrobots first show outside of China. We demonstrated standard area scan cameras from 0.3 to 10MP resolution, line scan cameras, 3D cameras and smart cameras. All products are developed by ourselves. Also we launched three new products at the show, which were a smart camera adopting the latest Intel AI platform (Movidius VPU), and two 8MP and 29MP high resolution area scan cameras.
