sCMOS Camera with Camera Link HS and 150fps at 26MP

PCO expands its sCMOS portfolio by the pco.edge 26 CLHS (Camera Link HS) model. With the capability of up to four CLHS data lanes, the pco.edge 26 CLHS pioneers a new level of high-speed, high-resolution streaming. A CLHS data rate performance of 150fps at 26 megapixels, adding up to 4.9GByte/s, is unique on the market.

Variable scaling of the CLHS interface brings the best possible adaptation to sensor bandwidth. Depending on the sensor data rate, one to four lanes with up to 25Gbit/s can be used for data transmission. They are bundled in one single MPO plug, making the setup a highly efficient experience. The new pco.edge 26 CLHS is characterized by its 5120 x 5120 pixel resolution, a pixel size of 2.5×2.5µm² and very short exposure times. Furthermore, the true charge-domain global shutter provides an exceptionally high shutter efficiency and low dark current.

The camera’s full GenICam support allows for easy integration into the customer’s software. Applications designed for larger pixels are covered as well by using the 4×4 binning function. This enables the conversion of the small pixels into an artificial 10×10µm² size and increases the signal-to-noise ratio. These extensive possibilities opened up by the camera are ideally suited for the disciplines of physical sciences, life sciences, and industrial applications. „We are happy to present the pco.edge 26 CLHS as a new member of our Camera Link HS cameras to demonstrate the power and speed of this fast and reliable fiber-optical camera interface. Coming from the area of scientific cameras, this can be a relevant offer even for demanding applications in machine vision,“ says Alexander Grünig, CTO at PCO.
